'The Shooting Gallery' a digital ceremony for a war photographer by Catherine Henegan & Aryan Kaganof

Aryan Kaganof performs the role of the photographer and Cathering Henegan performs the role of the editor in The Shooting Gallery, a production conceived and directed by Catherine Henegan at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa on July 4, 2006. The idea for The Shooting Gallery was inspired by the book 'The Bang Bang Club' by Joao Silva and Greg Marinovich. The Bang Bang Club was a group of young photographers in the early 1990s who became known for their shocking and close-up photo of violence in the townships prior to the first democratic elections in South Africa in 1994. Included in this group were Ken Oosterbroek and Kevin Carter. Oosterbroek was tragically killed in action in 1994, while Carter committed suicide shortly after receiving a Pulitzer Prize for feature photography, also in 1994. (Photo by Christine Nesbitt)
